A great old copper clad clam steamer/lobster pot...this is "large"!...perfect for those clambakes or lobster feasts! Measures approx. 20 inches tall without the lid cover. With the lid cover, measures approx. 24 inches high. Diameter is 24 inches across and the circumference is 76-1/4 inches around. Pot is copper with 2 stainless steel insert baskets ( sides of baskets are stainless with stainless basket-weave bottoms) that stack on each other...(I believe the stainless insert baskets might have been made at a later date than the old copper pot)....perfect for the corn on the cob with the lobster or clams! Copper with stainless steel has long been known for it's wonderful conduction of heat and qualities in cooking. Steamer pot is in great condition...the lid cover does have dents....please enlarge photos for viewing...but, I believe the dents in the lid could be pounded out. It has a spigot ( marked "Barrett") for draining the liquid and juices...perfect for clam broth! Some of the characteristics of this old copper covered pot resemble an antique copper wash tub...except much larger.....(possibly this was then revised at one time for use as a clam steamer?) An ideal addition for the host of the big annual clambake! Caterers, resorts, clubs, reunion organizers, etc... will find this a welcome addtion, too... for their next
