Thank you for shopping with us.Large Pre-Ban Ivory and Onyx Les Bernard Clip Earrings INTRODUCTION: I've been buying and selling vintage jewelry (both fine and costume) for over 25 years. After closing our brick and mortar shop in 2001, I've been slowly organizing my inventory and am making a concerted effort to list at least a few pieces each week. It can be difficult to buy jewelry on the internet because you can't hold the piece in your hand, so I include sections in every listing describing size and condition as well posting clear pictures. I also list total shipping costs for domestic customers in the 48 contiguous states so that t are no surprises after you buy. A word about buying vintage fine jewelry - Most people don't make a lot of fine jewelry purchases and are sometimes confused by the terminology and professional pictures used by some ebay sellers. I do not use terms like gold-clad, overlay, GP, HGE, or GEP to try to make potential bidders think an item is gold when it is not. T is nothing wrong with jewelry that is gold plated (which is what these misleading terms mean), but it is NOT fine jewelry. When I describe an item as gold, you can be sure it is gold all the way through, not just on the surface. When I describe stones, you can be sure that they are what I say they are. I do not use "stock" pictures taken to make an inexpensive piece look fabulous using lighting and editing tricks. I want my customers to say that the piece is better than the picture - not to be disappointed because it doesn't look like the photo. Shop with confidence ! Click to see my other jewelry listings. DESCRIPTION: I recently met a woman who inherited her mother's incredible jewelry collection amassed from the early 1950s through the 1990s. T are very few ordinary pieces, as this lady favored high quality, large scale, bold jewelry. We are just beginning to go through the collection, and I'll be listing many pieces over the coming months. Today I'm listing 5 ivory pieces from the 1960s. This is a pair of nice, high quality clip earrings. The carved "swoop" design features a black onyx cabochon stone, and t is beautiful graining and crosshatching. The metal is goldtone (silver with a gold wash). The incised mark on the back reads: LES BERNARD SILVER I am listing a matching pin today. The color is a rich ivory - some patina but not yet yellowed as happens to ivory after many, many years. The amount of patina is the reason I do not think these earrings are older than the 1980s. The original owner had such an enormous quantity of jewelry that it is doubtful whether many of the individual pieces were worn more than a handful of times. I see no signs that this item was worn much, if at all. In accordance with ebay rules, these ivory earrings are available to customers within the U.S. only.
SIZE: Each earring measures about 1" by 2 1/4". The weight is 19.7 grams.CONDITION: This item is in excellent condition - no damage or wear.
