Located in the Fountainbridge district of Edinburgh, the Fountain Brewery is/was operated by Scottish & Newcastle plc a brewing and leisure group who are based in Edinburgh . The brewery was built in 1856 by William McEwan. In 1931, t he company merged with McEwan's nephew, George Younger's company, to form Scottish Brewers Ltd.
