Large Silver German Gravy Boat w/ Base Stand Presented is a fine quality, 800 purity gravy boat which screws into its matching large stand from Germany. This piece was made in the late 1800s or early 1900s through the 1930s. Both the gravy boat and the stand are in a fluted design, and t is a large spout at either end of the boat. The inside of the boat is gilded and t is a monogrammed L on the stand. Over time, some of the gilding has worn off the interior of the gravy boat. The bottom of the stand is marked with a retailer's name H. Gumpert, a production number, 800 for silver purity and a cresent moon next to a crown. T is also the hallmark of a press for the manufacturer. The gravy boat measures 8 1/4 inches from spout to spout. The stand measures 9 1/2 inches long. Together they are 4 1/2 inches tall. The weight is 364 grams or 11.7 troy ounces.
