FINE EARLY SOLID SILVER 15J POCKET WATCH WITH UNUSUAL DIAL. Nice Silver Pocket Ratch Running Gentleman’s Solid Silver Pocket Watch Unusual Dial & Exposed Movement. weighing 266 grams , and measures 68mm in diameter fully hallmrked forLondon 1884, makers mark on case is C NWe estimate there to be around 4 ounces of silver in the case alone Excellent solid silver open face pocket watch in beautiful condition and fully working; fully hall-marked for the London assay office and date letter I for 1884 with the maker initials C N The case is in good condition with just the normal scratches that you would expect with a watch of this age. The Movement: Is a fine nickel gilt plate, open bridge lever movement, running strong , we have just run it for the last hour and it works well; the open and exposed movement is excellent quality sporting 15 jewels. Both winding crown and spring barrel wheel are also exposed. The Dial: Is a unique 24 hour dial with bold black Arabic numerals, it has an outer chapter dial marking the 5 seconds sectors with red Arabic numerals, it is an impressive dial and quite rare. The Glass: Is a true glass, double bevelled to the edge, this allows the chapter dial to be observed at an angle. A nice well used watch, with a nice movement and unique dial. One for the collectors
