It's been a long time since I've had a bed of Revere Ware! Yes, a mid-winter crop of 35 choices to pick from. Plus even 5 outliers have snuck into the bed. The large aluminum piece: TURKEY or BEAVE ROASTER with TRIVET Mfr: Super Maid Cook-Ware Made in: Chicago, Ill., USA Material: Aluminum, polished Size: 16 3/4" long outside, 15 3/4" inside diameter, 19" including open handles. 12" wide outside, 11" inside diameter. 4 1/2" tall pan, 8 1/4" with lid on, 9 1/4" including open handle Style: thick polished aluminum, very Moderne or Retro-look. The pierced footed trivet fits the pan bottom, except for a cut-out corner allowing it to be lifted easily! Circa: unk, probably 1940's, but might be 1930's or 1950's, too! Condition: Good Metal: (please decide based on the photos-remember a picture is worth.... etc.) signs of normal use, pitted, blemished inside and trivet (but that doesn't matter as long as you don't plan on frying in it!). Outside, shallow, trivial scratches. This is the aluminum equivalent of a piece of cast iron: nearly indestructible, and it doesn't RUST! Ok, it isn't pretty inside, but it will ROAST like a dream A couple notes: there was a dime-sized steam vent on one end. Joe has fashioned a new aluminum shiftable cover for it. It is screwed on leaving enough play that you can leave just the right amount, or none, of steam to escape This roaster is similar to the Griswold Aristocrat of the same size, style, finish and even trivet design (Griswold #'s: A498, A498C, A498T). Joe took his design lead from the Griswold steam vents cover. Smith & Waffords Wagner & Griswold book gives a BV of $100-150, and dates it to the 1950's. So, I dont' know, but this one may predate the Griswold version! I grade all COOKWEAR (not just Revere Ware) as Fine, Good, Fair or Poor (and pass on buying the Poor). Two grades are given: one for the metal (aluminum, copper and/or stainless steel). The grade will be based on degree of wear and tear. For the metal it will include bluing, pits, scratches, scuffs, wobble. "Vintage" or "Used" means all pieces can be expected to have signs of use. To earn a grade of Fine it has to have been gentle use. Joe has cleaned all the elements of each piece. This means he has taken it apart (when applicable), cleaned it, buffed it, and re-assembled it. Emails asking "How does Joe get it so clean" will receive the same answer: "various cleaners, solutions, and lots of elbow crease, with the occasional use of his power handtool helpers" So now you know. This item will be shipped USPS Parcel Post with Delivery Confirmation, in a well padded box. The total charge for S & H to a US address will be based on the packed weight and your zip code.
