SUPERB ANCIENT ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE w/ SWAN HANDLE This is a rare and superb Ancient Roman Bronze Applique with a Swan's head shaped handle in extremely fine condition. Roman Empire, c. 1st-2nd Century A.D. An elaborate Roman bronze applique in the form of a large vine leaf with elegantly curved handle terminating in the beautifully shaped head of a swan. Once attached to a large vessel used for serving or drinking wine. Measures 7.3 cm in height and 5.4 cm width. Completely intact, rare and in extremely fine condition. Comes complete with its own custom display stand as pictured. Museum quality example with exquisite detail and beautiful dark green patina with spots of reddish-brown! Provenance: Ex.
