LARGE VINTAGE R/C WITH MAHOGANY DECK SAILING YACHT Vintage pond yacht models were very popular in the US and England, these yachts were often raced by gentlemen in competition during the late 1800's up to the 1930's. This particular model is much later probably mid to later 20th century (1960's to 1970's). It has a beautiful rich mahogany plank main deck with a painted (blue) hull above the waterline and (white) below the waterline. It is outfitted with solid brass/bronze deck mounts with a single aluminum mast and boom. It has R/C components: Futaba FP S 14B (indirect drive), Futaba FP R112JE (2 channel receiver) AM 27 and a component labeled S5101 with a sticker on it that reads Tony Abel Yachts and Winches. There are no remote operating boxes or Sails and there is a provision in the bottom of the Hull that extends into the inner hull a housing for a centerboard that also is not present. I have no knowledge of these types of models so I'm simply describing what I see? I'm not sure of the all wood Hull's manufacturer as I see no manufacturers label? I am also not sure if everything that is there is functional. The all wood Hull appears to be watertight as I see no breaches in the Hull. The vessel is named Aquarius and it's homeport is Swansea.
