Large Wooden Country Store Grain Scoop~Advertising Offered FRESH to the market from a farm sale in Crestline, Ohio, is a wonderful old country store advertising grain scoop. The previous owner, a gentleman farmer, was an avid collector of Americana, and this was one of his prize pieces. It hung proudly in his farmhouse kitchen until his estate was liquidated. It has blacksmith forged copper strips which hold it together. They were even used (see picture of the back of the piece) to reinforce the natural splitting of the wood.The patina is fabulous, and the flaws attest to the original purpose, which was to scoop grain.A finer piece of Americana would be hard to find.
