German WW2 Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf109E authentic aircraft fragment, paired with original artwork by Ron Cole. This 19 x 13 inch handsome display includes an actual fragment of aluminum from Stafel Kapitan Oblt Hintze's Bf109E-4 (Werk number 2024) that was shot down by RAF pilot Sgt Winston Burgess in his Spitfire of 222 Squadron on July 26, 1940. Some of the wreckage was recovered from Sheerlands Farm near Kent. This piece is from the horizontal stabilizer and retains much of its interior green paint. The artwork included in this display was also chosen as the cover art for Adolf Galland's memoir 'The First and the Last' in its first ever Portuguese language edition. Print is Giclee 8 color process on archival acid-free paper. Each display is totally unique! A Cole's Aircraft offering. Own a piece of flying history! Signed by the artist.
