Two interesting old German violins both made circa 1890. The amber coloured instrument is three quarter size and the red/amber instrument is fullsize. The three quarter violin is unlabelled, the fullsize instrument is labelled: Copy of Joseph Guarnerius fecit Dresdae 1794. Both violins are in very good condition having no cracks, no pegbox cracks, no woodworm. The purfling on each instrument is neatly inlaid, both instruments having good edgework. The varnish on the three quarter size violin is amber in colour and completely original, the varnish on the fullsize instrument is red/amber and completely original. L.O.B of three quarter size instrument is 33.2 cm and the L.O.B of the fullsize instrument is 35.7cm. Both violins are sold with a case and a bow.
