The bowl has a deep and finely textured turquoise crackle glaze on the inside. The outside is unglazed and stained brown in the manner of Glen Luken, with whom Andreson studied in the mid 1930's. The bowl is a hansdome example of Andreson's style at the time she began her long tenure as head of the ceramics department at UCLA. Among the notables who studied with her are Robert Maxwell and Barbara Willis.
