well listed New York and TEXAS artist LAURA BUCHANAN (1872-1969) original watercolor portrait of woman signed lower center "L. BUCHANAN" measuring 8" x 10" and housed what appears to be the original period picture frame measuring approx. 9" x 11" overall. The w/c is in good condition exhibiting a water stain at lower RH bottom and a couple of very minor surface flaws as seen in my images, the frame exhibits some damage including some scuffing and minor gesso loss and cracks but is original to the w/c but perhaps a nicer period frame would do more justice to the piece. The portrait is no doubt a early work by Ms Buchanan most likely while living in New York City. Portrait comes guaranteed from a central Indiana estate having been in that family's possession for over 50 years. NO RESERVE!!!
