Dated 1928, no other date = First Edition 8 volumes, Hardcover, blue cloth-covered boards, issued with no dust jacket, 5-3/8" x 8" format. Condition: This set has obviously been used, as you will see from my pictures. Volumes all have good cover color except somewhat sunned spines.Shelf and edge rub on all volumes, all edges, some rubbed through. Volume 1 has a "test yourself" page of which one column has been written in with pencil; pencil checks at various points throughout that volume; one page with the lower corner torn out, as pictured. Volume III - some smudges on one page, as pictured, and possibly some lighter, smaller ones on a couple others. Small tear in the cloth on the lower back cover of Vol. V, as pictured. Pages of all are somewhat age-yellowed. Otherwise, books are in very good condition, with tight bindings, no loose pages. "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."
