Leather Black Powder Possibles Bag/Hunting Pouch with Utility Size Bag Knife & Powder Measure All Hand Made, One of a Kind Maker: Leo Wright Top quality stone oiled tanned leather Hunting Pouch/Bag with 2 accoutrements. This is an Appalachian style Mountain Bag. Hunting Pouches of this type were used through out the Mountainous Regions that is known as the Appalachians and runs from Georgia to Maine. These areas, such as the Great Smokies, Alleghenies, Adirondacks, and the White Mountains, had bags of this type and others. This bag was one of the most popular designs of the period. This is a reproduction of an original 1875 to 1850's set that is in a private collection. Hunting Pouch Description: This flap is an elongated design with a serrated top throat. In the center is a four pointed star/North Star inlaid design that is deer hide, dyed ox blood color. Around the star is a top stitch design and the flap is lined with pig skin. This style flap was very popular in the Applachian Chain of mountains. This bag is a square shape which was the oldest style design. It has a gusset around. It has two inner pockets stitched to the back panel of the bag. The bag is constructed of 4-5 oz stoned oiled cowhide. This leather has a deep richness, it has been treated with oils and waxes.
