This is for a superb and really well made Victorian leather cigar case with a sterling silver frame. This is a very unusual case, it has a thick solid silver band around the rim of the outer sleeve and a thick band of silver around the outside edge of the case as well. The silver carries a full set of English Sterling silver hallmarks for London 1874 along with the makers mark H.W.D. for Henry William Dee. The silver is also engraved with the prestigious London retailers 'Jenner & Knewstub of 33 St James Street & 66 Jermyn St'. Jenner and Knewstub were very notable retailers who had Royalty & Military figures on their books! This case is in excellent condition with no dings or dents to the silver, light surface wear to the leather only and it measures 105mm (4") tall and is 55mm 2 and a bit " wide.
