For auction are three (3) Old Church Slavonic printed leaves. The first printed is from a work entitled "AKATHIST to Our Holy and God-Bearing Father Seraphim, the Wonder-Worker of Sarov." It is beautifully printed with red headings (on both sides of the sheet) and with an intricate blue design around the text block. It is not nearly as old as the others, and I would guess that the age is late 19th century. The size is about 6 1/2 in. x 10 in. The 2nd leaf ca me from an Old Church Slavonic printed Book of Psalms , dated to the late 17th cent ury or early 18th century. An d we know exactly which Psalm is being printed. Size is about 6 in. x 7 1/4 in. The 3rd Old Church Slavonic printed leaf was printed in the early or mid-18th century. This leaf is about 4 in. x 6 1/2 in. On these three printed leaves, there are many instances of the NOMINA SACRA or "Sacred Names." The AKATHIST blue-c olored leaf sheet has the following: two (2) instances of "God"; one (1) instance of "Hallelujah" or "Alleluia"; and one (1) instance of the long phrase "Our Lord Jesus Christ"; also, two (2) instances of "Seraphim." The Psalms leaf has the following : "Psalm s"; three (3) instances of "The LORD"; and two (2) instances of "God"; the Psalms leaf also has ten (10) words printed in red, as well as an ornamental red initial letter.
