LEFTON COLONIAL VILLAGE COLLECTION "CARRIAGE HOUSE". To a outsider, it seems obvious how Brookfield House got its name. alongside the house is a beautiful field of wildflowers with a stream running on the border. However, the actual history of the house and how it was named is a bit different. Lily McCaully was fed up with Ireland. At twenty-two she was an ambitious, emancipated girl, so she left for America. She could cook, clean house, and knew how to take care of children. After she moved to Colonial Village, Lily was called upon to work for Mr. Ralston Banks, a young, widowed father. They grew found of each other and "Rollie" as he prefered to be called, asked for her hand in marriage. Lily often spoke of the things she cherished, and missed most, about Ireland- Its rolling green fields and gently flowing brooks. Because of this, Rollie declared that their familly home would henceforth be known as Brookfield. Measures 9-1/4" long, 7" wide and 9"tall. Lights from the back with a night-light type bulb. The bottom says, "Limited Edition 1996, The Brookfield, by Lefton, 1977/5,500", has the red and gold Lefton Label, 2 clear labels that say Lefton China, hand painted, and designed by Jane Chambless, also a paper one the says Clonial Village.
