You are bidding on a General Washington Monogram Bowl. It is a faithful reproduction of a porcelain bowl hand made in 1782 at the Niderviller factory in France. The original bowl was presented to General and Mrs. George Washington by Adam Philiber, owner of the Niderviller factory. The bowl is decorated with galands of pink roses, and gold and green leaves. The "GW" monogram is resting upon a cloud, and crowned with a chaplet of roses. The recreation of the bowl has been executed with painstaking attention to the details of color and shape. The bowl is 4" tall and about 8" in diameter. It is hand trimmed in lusterous 24-karat gold. It is in excellent condition, and includes the display stand pictured. It is the sixth in a series of fine china reproductions from the collection of the Smithsonian Institution. The free listing tool. List your items fast and easy and manage your active items.
