This is an exquisite Lenox "Winter Greetings Scenic" 16" oval fine porcelain china Holiday platter designed by Catherine McClung. It features a beautifully executed portrayal of two winter birds (Cardinals?) taking respite on an evergreen bough in a snow-covered forest. The platter measures 16" long by 12 1/2" wide and is generously trimmed around the outer edge in gold. It is amply recessed and stands about an inch high from its base to its rim. Part of a set and probably designed as a serving platter we have used it most often as a dinner plate during the Holidays for serving Henry VIII portions of prime rib with individual yorkshire puddings or pop overs, baked potatoes and vegetables with room left for ramekins of horseradish and au jus. T are a total of 6 of these platters available each being offered in its own separate auction simultaneously. They complement any ivory-colored Lenox or other china pattern. We have even combined them at Holiday dinner parties with Spode English Christmas Tree patterned dinnerware, red crystal and gold and silver flatware. This platter is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. It has always been hand washed and carefully stored between Holiday seasons. It is remarkably heavy and fragile and will require professional packaging for shipment. Please check out the shipping costs read more
