Les Bouquinistes, Notre Dame, Paris Original Watercolour Painting By Aldo Raimondi (1902 - 1998) A superb original watercolour painting on paper by highly regarded Italian artist Aldo Raimondi. The painting is titled Les Bouquinistes and depicts the authentic Parisian green stalls selling old books, postcards and prints. The painting skillfully blends impressionism with naturalism , embracing the concept of painting ' en plein air' , using a quick brushstroke all of which make Raimondi's work so sought after. The painting remains in very fine condition, free of any significant imperfections. The painting is mounted behind glass and is presented in a giltwood frame with minor marks. The painting is signed lower left and is also titled verso with the artists name. A highly accomplished and sought after work that would grace any home or collection. Aldo Raimondi (1902 - 1998) , son of the painter Roberto , began his artistic life at a young age . Raimnodi was a great watercolorist , excellent portrait painter. Raimondi was the official painter of the famous conference in Stresa, Italy , 1935. Known in Italy and all over europe he produced a large amount of works, from portraits to landscapes and cityscapes. In 1939 he traveled to Istria and Zadar , and painted several watercolours then reproduced in a series of postcards . Raimondi's work is highly sought after and makes many thousands of pounds at auction. Comparable auction results have been included in the photograph section above.
