The Letters of Queen Victoria: a Selection from Her Majesty's Correspondence between the years 1837 and 1861; Published by Authority of His Majesty the King; edited by Arthur Christopher Benson and Viscount Esher. Volume II. 1844-1853. 575 pages, 16 plates, gilt top edge. Volume III. 1854-1861. 660 pages, 11plates. gilt top edge, folding family trees. Published by John Murray, London. 1st edition. 1907. Red cloth, red, white and gold lettering and decoration. Both volumes are in very good condition considering their ages, with no inscriptions or other markss. A certain amount of wear with bumped corners, very slight fading of spines, slight marks on back covers, remains of Smith's Library labels on front and back endpapers, some foxing on endpapers. But generally in a very good condition. All plates are complete with their own tissue guards. These are very nice, tight copies of the first edition of the Letters, not to be confused with the later edition of 1908, a much inferior production. Copies of the 1st edition in very good condition are now rare. Post and packing within UK £5.00, elsewhere by arrangement - please ask for details. Thanks for looking and good luck.
