LARGE GOLD TONE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WOOD FRAME WITH GESSO CARVING, 28 inches by 34 inches, measured from the outside. An impressive frame that needs very little restoration. Gold tone finish on the frame – probably not gold leaf – the finish may be original, or if not, was redone many, many years ago. The finish seems almost a little dull – not the crispness you see with gold leaf.Frame is circa 1880 – 1910’s. Details: Frame weighs about 9 – 10 pounds before any packing materials. No glass, no backing. Frame only. A little gesso is missing and there are some cracks in the gesso at the corners of the frame. Some discolorations and dark spots on the gold tone finish. Corners don’t wiggle – frame seems tight. No loose pieces of carving. Two small spaces on corners of the very inside liner, near where the contents would be – no wiggle at any of the corners, so the space is maybe from a little missing gesso. MEASUREMENTS: INSIDE OPENING measurements are just over 18 inches by 24 inches. Frame can be used horizontally or vertically. ALL SALES FINAL.
