WELCOME TO SALLYS DIARIES:All of the handwritten ledgers or journals in this lot belonged to Oregon State University Alpha Xi Delta women's fraternity. They begin in 1923 and end in 1994 and between the four very large ledgers there are a total of 1166 pages of writing. They are all large too, on average measuring about 8 ½" wide and 12" (or more) tall. It's impossible for me to quote from these as I don't have time but I did quickly browse through them (mostly the early ledger) to gather some sample pages to scan, some names and also the different subjects and events that they cover. The second covers 1959-1965, the third 1951-1971 and the last one 1975-1994. All of them are in good shape and packed full of historical University of Oregon information. For those of you that don't know, Oregon State University is located in Corvallis Oregon . Its roots date back to 1856 when Corvallis Academy was founded. In 1858 the name was changed to Corvallis College and was formally
