Lg. Vintage Ornate Gold Metal Picture Frame This is a beautiful large ornate vintage picture frame made of gold-painted metal. The frame is rectangular and measures approx. 13" across the top by 16", with an opening of approx. 8" by 10" for the picture. The picture is held in place by 4 moveable metal wires/arms on the back. There is glass in the frame and red velveteen-covered cardboard on the back. The frame was originally an easel frame with a "foot" at the base on the back; however, this foot has been removed and the frame was converted to hang on a wall. The original metal easel chain is still attached to the back. The frame is decorated with raised scrolled leaves/feathers and beading around the edge of the inside opening. This item is in overall good to very good condition. It has a few minute wear spots to the gold finish. The red backing has some wear and a few tiny rips around the hanging hardware (see photos). This item is heavy. I do not know if it is brass; we did try to see if it is magnetic, and the magnet was not attracted to the metal.
