This is the original Record Information Services (RIS) numerical label listing for British Dot , all Singles, EPs & LPs issued from 1964 to 1974. Also a Singles label listing for British Liberty between 1962 to 1967, and for United Artists between 1962 to 1969. As a bonus, this numerical label listing includes the complete British output (Singles & LPs) on Paramount, Neighborhood, Greene Bottle and Tumbleweed. All listed in numerical order (by catalogue number) and includes Artist, Titles, and Month & Year of issue. Established in the mid-1950s, Liberty first appeared in Britain under the London-American logo. Class acts included Julie London and Eddie Cochran, not forgetting David Seville & The Chipmunks. When it left London in 1962 to emerge under its own banner via EMI, some of the various label series retained the original American catalogue number (which also reflected label origin - Liberty, Dalton or Imperial, the last two having been taken-over by Liberty), other Liberty records were issued on an all-purpose European series shared with other countries. Unfortunately for British record collectors, this meant several very ragged, non-numerical series, which is why this listing was first issued in 1995 - to help the vexed collector decide what was actually pressed in the UK. In 1967, Liberty took its business to Philips - but that's another story. United Artists, a spin-off from the film company, started life soon after Liberty and also appeared in Britain under the London-American logo, before moving to HMV. Still within the EMI fold, in 1962 it appeared under its own logo and with its own numerical series (there had been special HMV-United Artists logos). The label did not attract long-term "Pop" artists, but Gene Pitney did leave his mark. In 1969, the numerical series changed to an erratic "international" series, a good place to stop. More mainstream but no less interesting is the Dot label, many of its prolific releases appearing through the London-American label. In 1964 it launched itself in Britain under its own logo, issuing the same mix of Pop records as before, with Pat Boone still well in evidence. Paramount was a spin-off from the film company, hence many soundtrack LPs, Neighborhood was mainly the folksy Melanie, with Greene Bottle and Tumbleweed having Blues & Country leanings. The first part of this listing (Dot & smaller labels) formed No. 11 in the "Record Information" series, which normally took the form of card-covered A5 booklets (Issues 1 to 8, and the final three issues 17, 18 & 19). However, for "Record Information" Issues 9 to 16, the format was changed to A4 sheets printed on red paper, which could be either filed in a ring-binder or supplied as a comb bound booklet, as is being offered here. The other pages (Liberty & United Artists) are single-sided, laser printed on white paper. A4 size (21 x 29.7 cm) comb bound booklet with clear plastic cover and linen board back, 19 sheets, with full Artist Index for each label, published in 1990 & 1995. This booklet is new.
