The following item is an original copy of "Life of Abraham Lincoln " by J. G. Holland from 1866. The book covers his birth and early childhood through his assassination in 1865. Mr. Holland hits on about every topic that pertained to Abraham Lincoln. This copy is in good condition considering the age. The binding is tight and solid as are the hinges. The paper covering the hinges shows some splitting but does not affect their strength. Then inner text is clean and free of writing or underlining. There is occasional foxing or spo tting throughout the book which is to be expected. The cover s are done orange-brown color with gold gilt title on spine and Li ncoln's signature in gold gilt on the cover. The corners show some wear and a very small a mount of board showing. This copy is in great overall condition! Most copies of this tit le are usually in poor condition. This one has survived well over the years. Although not perfect, it is solid in all aspects and is a very nice piece of Lincoln history from the mid-1860's.
