Much is right with these three books but the photos included reflect primarily what it wrong with the books because most everything else is right.1- Chips to top and bottom of spines of all three volumes as shown in first photo (photo 1). Bottom section of the spine cover of volume 3 (photo 7) has additional splitting. Additional corner wear to all three volumes and scuffs on the spines.2- Volume 1 has damage to front end paper and half title page. Both pages clearly fell out at one time and were placed back in, but not after significant wear, including loss to a large corner of the blank end paper (photo 6)3- Binding strings are visible in several spots in all three volumes (photo 5). No loose pages in any of the three volumes.4- Brown end papers are split in all cases. Several have been partially repaired but they are generally not so hot. (Photo 9) pretty much reflects five of the six hinges with (photo 10) being the sixth and worst of the bunch. There are small glue spots on some of the hinges and penciled marks on the brown front end papers.5- Volume 2 has a water stain running through the first few pages (photo 11) but the stain is gone by the Contents page (photo 12).That's about it. Given the price being asked, the books are quite serviceable. They are not collector quality but can fill a hole in your collection until you read more
