This issue's c over features the original cover of LIFE Magazine from August 14, 1944 and celebrates the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. It contains comprehensive information from 1944 all in one issue. The History Channel provides this retrospective of one of the most important events in history as covered by LIFE Magazine. All LIFE Magazine 1944 covers are repeated in full inside (as they originally appeared in previous issues - June 12, June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10, August 7, August 14 (twice), and August 21). All covers can be framed . There are also a number of photos and captions from each of these issues. The D-Day invasion timeline with original stories and illustrations are by Seielstad. Stories include: "Beachheads of Normandy," "The Big Days" by Charles Christian Wertenbaker, and "Americans Fight Into Cherbourg".
