The Life of Saint Edmund King & Martyr Folio Society Limited Edition 837 /1 01 0We were recently at an estate sale for a book collector and lover of fine antiquarian books. Although we are far from experts in the field, we recognize excellence when we see it. Over the next few days and weeks we will be listing stand-out items from this sale . The next set we are listing is The Life of Saint Edmund King & Martr . Thi s consists of two books . The first is T he Life of Saint Edmund King & Martyr and the next is T he Life of Saint Edmund King & Martyr Commentary . They are both protected in an enclosed slipcase. The Life of Saint Edmund King and Martyr has been reproduced from the manuscript MS Harkey 2278 in the British Library through digital photography be Laurence Pordes and has been printed by Cambridge University Press on Furioso paper from the Biberis t mill in Switzerland supplied by John Purcell Paper. This edition of 1010 copies of which 1000 are for sale has been bound for members of the Folio Society by Smith Settle of Otl ey, Yorkshire, in f ull Nig eria n goatskin with leather onlays over bevelled boards blocked with a design b y David Eccles, with handmade laid-pape r endlea ves from Fabriano Mill, Italy.
