You are bidding on a Lima Class 73 number 73006 professionally repainted in the Merseyrail PTE Yellow livery with Regional Railways branding. It was professionally repainted for me many years ago (long before someone did a limited edition of one of these locos), by Western Respray Services. In addition to the repaint dummy pipes and buckeye couplings were added at one end only, the otherend retaining standard Lima tension lock coupling. It also has additional electrical pickups fitted between both bogies using flexible wire and brass strip. This is invisible from normal viewing angles and it provides greatly improved performance, especially at slow speeds or over pointwork. This was not standard on Lima class 73s.It has been part of a large collection of locomotives and has hardly ever been run. It has been in storage in a spare bedroom for many years due to the lack of a layout, but has been test run prior to going on sale and runs perfectly. However, as with all Lima ‘pancake’ motors it may require additional running in and may require light oiling to ensure perfect performance. Loco is supplied in original box for the loco on which the repaint was based, which is in good condition some storage wear from years stored in a spare room. It will be well packed and sent 1st class. Loco being sold due to a need to downsize the collection. read more
