Limited Edition 1999 Visconti Vatican Museum "Le Grottesche" Fountain Pen in Sterling Silver and Gold Vermeil Visconti's PCreated by Visconti in 1998 for the Musei Vaticani, this pen was named the official pen for the Vatican in 2000. The nib and the cap of the pen is adorned with the official crest of the Vatican. Crafted out of elegant black ebonite and solid silver covered in gold vermeil, this pen is intricately carved with a pattern echoing the extravagant motifs decorating the walls of Ancient Roman palaces and the Vatican Palaces, the origin of this pen's name: "Le Grottesche." Only 1999 of these pens were produced by Visconti worldwide. Writes with a Visconti double reservoir power filler ink system and an 18k gold nib, matching the yellow gold body of the pen.
