FERGUSON BROWN DOVE, Signed & Numbered, Pigeon Forge, TENN Pigeon Forge Pottery was started in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in 1946. Douglas Ferguson and his wife Ruth founded the pottery in 1946. Red clay found near the pottery was used to make the pieces. Molded or thrown pottery with matte glaze and slip decoration was made. The pottery closed in 2000. This is a LARGE (11" long) and very fine, early piece by D. Ferguson, featuring Doug's trademark "speckled" design pattern seen on many of his personal creations. "Kovel's" estimates the price for D.
