This is a beautiful LW, 125-Watt, Electric Train Transformer from my personal collection. This transformer was manufactured by Lionel Trains in New York in 1955 and 1956. The LW transformer features a whistle control, and a power-on light in the center of the control handle. The power-on light varies in brightness with the track voltage. This is an exceptionally clean transformer. The Bakalite case, decal, control handle and buttons are all intact--no cracks, chips or gouges. The steel bottom is clean, without a sign of rust. The controls are tight and operate smoothly. The output voltage is correct. The electric cord is new. This transformer has the original, Lionel rectifier disc. I have tested it on my own layout and the rectifier is good; the whistle controller works properly. The LW is one of the most attractive and reliable of the post-war Lionel transformers. It is powerful enough to run any of the heavy, post-war Lionel train sets. This transformer will fit nicely in a USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box. Priority Mail shipping anywhere in the continental United States will be $10.95. I pay for Delivery Confirmation, which gives you a USPS tracking number. I do not ship outside the United States. I have described this transformer as accurately as I can--with an emphasis on anything which is wrong. I am not an expert on read more
