I am selling several of my Lionel engines at low prices to make room for new items. This auction is for a Lionel 6-11260 Rio Grande Legacy Scale 2-8-2 Mikado #1207 . First used on Japanese railways in the early 1900s, Mikado steam locomotives became great fast-speed haulers of heavy freight, securing them a place of importance on American railways.The following link to the Lionel website gives detailed information about this engine:Lionel Rio Grande Legacy Scale 2-8-2 Mikaado #1207 .I purchased this engine used but with little run time, in 2016. In testing it before this sale, all Legacy features worked well. A known problem with this Mikado is that, although rated for O-36 curves, the coupling between the engine and tender is short enough that on tight curves, the front of the tender can contact the overhang of the engine cab causing a derailment. I cured this by wiring a temporary short extension to the tender tongue, eliminating the problem. The tender pictures show this modification. The small wire extension can be easily clipped off if not needed.The engine will be shipped in the original box, and includes the user manual, orange memory module, spare traction tires and drive rod nut remover, and a scale coupler which can replace the front engine coupler.
