For sale is a 12730 Lionel set cataloged in the mid 1960's As is mentioned in Greenburg's 1945-69 guide to sets Vol 3, this set was cataloged from 1964-1966. When I originally obtained the set which I bought from the original owner, two l of the cars had been substituted by the selling dealer which was common at that time. I kept two of the cars (which were common cars) and purchased the 6414 auto and 6476 hopper to bring the set back to the contents cataloged for it. The engine and cars are very good to excellent. The engine runs but the horn was not tested. No battery damage! The auto carrier has one area where double back tape the owner used to keep the automobiles from rolling took off a small area of paint. The red autos are all original and very hard to find!!! The individual component boxes vary a little as to condition. See photos. Several couplers on the cars have been repaired with new plastic knuckles that have integral springs. I wish the set box itself were a little nicer. It must have been in a damp area at one point which affected the bottom and caused some staining. But it is the real thing and these boxes are very rare. The box is strong enough to hold the set properly. Instruction sheets are included for the set itself, engine, O gauge uncoupling track, LW transformer, warrenty cards, etc. There is no track included.
