The Lionel Girls Train Set was sold in 1957 and 1958. It was an attempt to broaden the appeal of toy trains to girls by offering a train with a pink engine and tender and several pastel colored freight cars. The set was Lionel No. 1587S. The attempt failed; not many were sold; and pastel colors were mostly discontinued. is the original Lionel 2037-500 Girls Pink Steam Tender Only. It has been restored. The locomotive is not included, this is the tender only. It has been restored and the lettering has been re-done. T is a broken step in the resr (Please see my close up photo), and a few light scratches on the shell. This item has been inspected and serviced by our authorized Lionel service station.
