Lionel postwar 2329 Virginian rectifier locomotive. This was manufactured in 1958-59 only in limited quantity. The engine is in excellent operating condition with working horn, three-position reversing unit and lights at both ends. The shell is in very good shape with a few small paint chips and scrapes. Lettering is complete and clear. The front VGN decal has a small scrape on the right corner. The front screw hole has a reapired crack but all plastic is present. The rear screw hole looks ok. The frame is not quite as good as the shell. There is some rust mostly on the right rear corner and a small amount of corrosion on the battery holder. The front railing is slightly bent. Both couplers operate with a magnetic mechanism. This is a nice example of one of Lionel's scarcer postwar engines.
