LIONEL 2344 NEW YORK CENTRAL F3, AA DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE SET LOT DESCRIPTION: As the title says this lot consists of a LIONEL 2344 NEW YORK CENTRAL F3, AA DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE SET. Made in the 1950-52 time period the Classic 2344 New York Central was one of the first of what would be a great line of Lionel F3s. This set comes with dual motors, magna-traction, interior lights, a diesel horn. Being a early F3 it has more detail (wire roof vents, nose ladders, side ladders & etc) than the F3s that were to come later. It is all original Post War Lionel including the original 8 port hole lenses (you often find these replaced with repros but not the case here). Check out my other auctions as I also have up for auction the matching B unit for these AAs. DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION: Set is in great shape. The plastic shells are fine, no cracks, breaks or chips. The colors, side stripes and decals are all bright and clear. Front decals a little worn. Lettering and numbers still nice and sharp. The battery compartment, the interior and the frame are fine , no battery damage there at all. Some paint chips on the bottoms of the frames. Trucks and rollers in great shape. Some minor playwear scratches and scuffs here and there, but no serious issues here at all. Again, this is just a nice looking set that IMHO I would rate as in excellent condition but take a good look at the pictures and you be the judge. WORKING CONDITION: I have, cleaned, lubed and tested the set and it runs and reverses perfectly. E-unit cycles just fine. I did not test the horn, they are much too finicky to know when they will or will not work PAYMENT OPTIONS: I accept PayPal and “other payment” arrangements can be made.
