Here is Lionel's premier O gauge passenger set from the late 1920s. Referred to as the " Big Mogul' in the catalog, this set was almost as big as the smaller standard gauge sets of the day. The #256 electric engine was powered by two motors, making it a prolific puller. While this set was offered from 1924 to 1929, this late version with pea green window frames on each piece is very difficult to find, especially in collector condition. Not only is this particular set in excellent cosmetic condition, it operates beautifully as well.From what I can see, everything is 100% original, even the locomotive wheels which usually are found crumbled or swelled. I have been collecting for 35 years, and this is the best example of Outfit #268 that I have seen offered for sale. Please ask any questions you might have before bidding.
