Lionel 262 Steam Engine. Type 1, black with copper trim 1931-1932. The shell on this engine is original with notouch ups and looks great, it’s C7 except for some chips on cab roof. The frame has a new cowcatcher. It was common for the original ones to break off. It has been painted and looks good. You can’t tell it was replaced unless you turn the engine over and look at the back of the cowcatcher. The running boards on this engine have been repainted black, paint has been blended with the cowcatcher (lower running boards underneath the cab are original paint). Balance of frame is original paint, so is boiler front and steam chest. (small touch up on boiler front latch, very difficult to see). All trim is original and in great shape. Drive wheels are original and in excellent condition . Motor has been cleaned and rewired. It runs great both directions and the headlight works. Needs front truck, available on Ebay or from several parts dealers. This is an excellent engine for a layout. It looks good and is ready to run.
