Here is a rare Lionel 3854 Scale Operating Merchandise Car. The car shows VERY little signs of use. There is only one very small spot on the edge of one side by the ladder (1/8 in.) and another VERY small spot (1/16th in.)on one side where there is a scratch. A couple VERY minor contact marks (NOT chips) exist. There are no chips or cracks. All four steps are in place with no damage to the holes where they are inserted. The word "CAR" has some fading on one side. It will be very difficult to find a 3854 in better condition. There are no containers with the car. This is another car from a collection that we are selling for an elderly man. He bought trains at a local hobby shop in the 50's and 60's and only displayed them. He never had an operating layout. These trains have been packed away since 1966. Watch our auctions for additional trains from this collection and from a complete train layout that we bought from an estate. See pictures.
