This auction consists of a Lionel 6445 Fort Knox Gold Reserve box car from 1961 - 1963. There is no original box, but the item has been stored carefully for many years. DESCRIPTION: Very unusual Lionel bank car modeled on the aquarium car. Clear plastic car painted silver, but with unpainted windows for viewing the gold bullion inside. Black lettering. Differs from the 3435 aquarium car in that there are nickel-sized circular screens at the car ends. Bank slot on top. Variation: silver painted plastic with gold painted bullion. CONDITION: Silver paint is still very bright, which is usually a problem with silver paint on other Lionel rolling stock. There are slight box rubs on the handles on the doors on the roof of the car and a tiny smudge on one of the center side doors. The plastic display windows are not hazy. Windows show only the most minor less-than-hairline scratches if held up to a bright light. Plastic trucks are clean and show only minor run ware. No cracks or chips in plastic shell. Overall, this is a very clean and presentable car. TERMS: Payment must be received within 10 days of close of auction. Winning bidder pays a fixed shipping price of $12.00, and seller will pay the balance of the shipping and insurance. Winning bidder please contact seller within three days of end of auction. TCA member. Good luck and !
