Offered at auction is this Lionel PREWAR Whistling DIECAST TENDER #2226WX , Large all Metal 12 Wheeled Tender Lionel produced from 1938-42 - I think this is the Later version with the LARGE FONT Lettering. & the Sliding shoe pick-up ... This beauty also has the heavy Duty Whistle unit inside and it still Works Pretty well , nice mellow whistling sound ... Loaded with Nickle Trim & all the Diecast & Steel STEPS are intact , clearly Hand rubber stamped number 2226WX on the bottom , , Hi -Box Coupler still activates remotely , No Rust.. the correct Tender for the Big 226E Engine and the Famous semi-scale #763 HUDSONS ... a Scarce vintage Lionel TENDER in Excellent condition !...
