Item : LIONEL BOXED NICE 6-18503 SP BELL RINGER NW-2 LOCO Description : Lionel Original Boxed Nice and Sought After 6-18503 Southern Pacific NW-2 Bell Ringing Diesel Switch Locomotive. This has to be one of the nicest NW-2's Lionel produced in the modern era of production. Everything about this Locomotive was based off the popular and rare 622 and 620 Bell Ringing NW-2's produced in the early 1950's. They used the same tooling for the frame, the operating bell, Pullmor motor, Magnetraction and the Dual Headlights, also a 3 Position "E" unit. In fact you could interchange this SP NW-2 and mount it on any of the Postwar Heavy Duty NW-2's. Like the 622/6220/6250/624/623 ect and vise verse. In other words an extremely well buit work horse of a Switcher, to make things complete, these Southern Pacific units look fantastic to boot. If your a Postwar or Modern Era collector. You should take a very hard look at this one and the Modern remake of the 1805 Western and Maryland, 624 and 6250 for your collection.
