Welcome to AF Trains 'n More Three Principles of Fast, No-Risk Shopping: One Business Day Handling Fourteen Day "No Questions Asked" Warranty Return Postage Paid by Seller About this car: K-Line under MDK ownership manufactured primarily O/O27 gauge trains. The earliest offerings were a tad smaller than full-sized O gauge trains and would operate successfully on a twenty seven inch radius track. The shells for this series of boxcars measure just about 8 1/4" in length, end to end not including couplers. To the best of my knowledge, all c. 8.25" trains manufactured by K-Line were cataloged beginning the the digit "5" making them fairly easy to distinguish from their slightly larger full-size O gauge offerings. Using shells originally designed for this slightly smaller O/O27 series of three rail trains, K-Line began to manufacture a line of S-gauge products. All K-Line S-gauge boxcars use this c. 8.25" O/O27 shell. Interestingly, all K-Line S-gauge cars were unique in design and were not manufactured or offered as O/O27 gauge cars, nor were any of the O/O27 gauge cars offered to S-gauge collectors. I know of only one exception to this general rule, a commemorative boxcar made for a hobby store by K-Line in both O/O27 and S-gauge configuration. This boxcar was originally offered in S-gauge. The design was not offered in O/O27 gauge. read more
