Lionel operating magnetic crane, catalog # 165 form the prewar era, for O gauge. This is one of the all time great accessories! Use it to pick up scrap metal with the real electromagnet, then swing the crane right or left on its pedestal to position the magnet over a gondola car and cut power to the magnet to release the load. The magnet, the hook that holds it and the swiveling of the crane are all controlled by the four button controller. Although I have never operated this particular unit, I have had it for a very long time and I did replace the four element wire between the controller and the crane's base. If you've never had one of these, you owe it to yourself to get one, either to operate or to enjoy the bright colors in your collection. Thanks for looking, JW.
