LIONEL #6464-700 SANTA FE BOXCAR Offered for sale is a very attractive Lionel Postwar #6464-700 Santa Fe Boxcar which was first produced in 1961 and then produced again in 1966. This 6464 boxcar is the Type 4 version, without any built date information, that was first introduced in 1960. It is given a rarity rating of "3" in the TM Guide, which means that it is an item that is gaining in collector popularity and is getting harder to find. It is in Factory New/Brand New condition: all original and unused. This sharp-looking Santa Fe Boxcar appears to be brand new, but it may have been test run, thus it cannot be considered mint. It has a red-painted body and roof, red-painted multi-block doors, and white heat-stamped lettering, which is clear, clean and complete. The red paint is unusually nice and bright for a forty-six year old boxcar, the catwalk ends are not broken and there is no screwhole crack at the end of the body. And, it comes with an aged and worn, but complete, original Lionel window box that shows it age and appears to have been re-glued along the bottom main box seam. This Lionel Postwar #6464-700 Santa Fe Boxcar is extremely nice and exceptionally clean, and it would certainly be a welcome addition to any collection or operating layout.
