Lionel Pre-war Crane 810 The paint has a lot of chip marks. The couplers are functional, both have some slight tarnish. One wheel set is in good condition, the other has a little rust on the carrier and one wheel/axle has some heavier rust. One of the tie-bars from the coupler to the wheel set is missing (the flat metal that makes the wheels follow the coupler). The rest of the body appears to be in good condition, with no dents or deep scratches. One of the ladder rails is bent. There is some rust on one side of the black frame, and that side of the crake base also has a little rust. The crane mechanisms are all there and functional. I think the string is original, but it has some frayed/broken strands. The hook pulley has a little surface rust, the paint on the ball is mostly worn off. The bracket that clamps the crane to the tracks has some surface rust, and the clip that holds it up under the car is broken. My trains have been in storage since I put them away in 1967. They've been through my hands as a child, as well as my father's hands when he was a child, and they were thoroughly played with and enjoyed by both generations.
