Lionel prewar 226E Steam engine & matching 2226w whistle tender, this is late prewar at its best. This is a gorgeous big engine, all metal boiler and tender. This one is in high grade condition, no doubt collectible worthy, very very clean, excellent satin black finish, bright bold silver stamped letters and numbers, only a very few small nicks along the running board of the boiler but besides that like new, handrails and piping as well as drives rods are shiny silver. Comes with original box, box has missing flaps on one end but has nice sharp corners which is a huge plus. Another very interesting part of this auction are the two cardboard inserts sown in the pictures. I have never seen these types before but the original owner tells me they have always been inside the box ith the engine so here they are. This set rates a solid c8 and is one not to be missed!I am listing numerous early post war cars in the same gorgeous condition and will combine shipping!
